Anayirankal Dam

22 kms away from Munnar, Anayirankal dam is closely embraced by Tata Tea Plantations, coffee and cardamom plantations in the green forests. It is constructed using only sand and rock, and is hailed as one of the biggest dams in Asia. Chances are aplenty for water to fill around 34km of its perimeter during season. Surrounded by hill stations, a hanging bridge plays its role to connect tea plantations oppositely. Sight of elephants is ubiquitous, thus the name, Anayirankal.

Rajamala

Rajamala wildlife sanctuary forms a part of Eravikulam wildlife sanctuary located in Idukki district of Kerala about 15km away from Munnar. It is home to half of the population of an endangered species of goat known as Nilgiri Tahr. You can admire these playful animals in their natural habitat even as they graze along the grasslands. Not just Tahr, the picturesque beauty of this mountain too will make you spellbound that you would never want to leave.
